Mt. Snow, Vermont - October 25-29, 2012

Although it had been awhile since the Iwobis came to visit, it was wonderful to have them for an autumn weekend--despite the fact that it was late in the season and most of the leaves were gone!  Since we could neither ski nor golf, we hiked--pictured are Jim, Margie, Sam and Gayle on the cross-town trail....

Margie is pointing out something to Jim and Sam....

Jim and Sam cannot seem to keep up with Margie and me!

Pictured are Sam, Margie, Jim, Carl and Nina Satterfield and Gayle.  Carl was in our Pitman High School class; he and his wife live about an hour away in Massachusetts---so we invited them in for dinner and an evening of games.  We (Margie, Jim, Carl and I) had our own Class of 1958 high school reunion!

Baltimore, Maryland - October 19-21, 2012

Family Weekend at Johns Hopkins University--and what a gorgeous fall weekend it was!  Lisa and Chuck couldn't get there to visit with Kirk until Sunday so Jim and I went down on Friday and left on Sunday just prior to his parents' arrival.  Jim and I stayed at a hotel at the Inner Harbor and on Friday night we picked up Kirk and went to dinner at a restaurant down on the Inner Harbor.

On Saturday, in between a variety of lectures for family, Kirk walked us over the entire campus.  It's a beautiful campus and Kirk is loving it!
After lunch Gayle and Kirk are pictured as he continues our tour of the campus!

Jim and Kirk are having a break after leaving the library--Gilman Hall is in the background.

Saturday night Kirk treated us to dinner in the dining hall.  And then our misadventures began!  We were going to a concert at the Peabody Institute and were supposed to be going by bus.  However, Kirk got the times wrong and we missed the bus--so now taking a taxi is rather expensive--in fact, just as much as the concert!  But we arrived in plenty of time and the concert was excellent and we had superb seats.  So everything worked out just fine.

On Sunday morning there was a special Jazz Brunch, which we all attended.  Great music--and the food was unlike any college food I ever had!!  All too soon our wonderful weekend with my grandson ended and we had to return home.  Fortunately, his mom, dad and Klett grandparents were on their way to end Family Weekend with him.

Yorktown, Virginia - October 11-16, 2012

We always spend a weekend in Yorktown in October to celebrate Lynda's October 5th birthday.  So while Jim and John were out golfing, Lynda, Christina and I went to see Andy's soccer game...

Andy has control of the ball....

...and takes off with an opponent on his heels!

During the second half, Andy was goalie--that's pretty intense as he's about to save the ball from entering the goal!
After the game, we all head to the local pumpkin patch so the kids can pick out their pumpkins for carving for Halloween....
Christina, Lynda and Andy admiring a white pumpkin

Lynda and Christina trying to decide on the
 "perfect" pumpkin!

Aboard the wagon, Andy has his white pumpkin to
take back to the car...

...and Christina has her orange pumpkin...

But here's Grandmom with her two "pumpkins"!!
Next day it's off to another soccer game....
Andy show some pretty good footwork...

...as he keeps it away from the
opponent..

..and continues on down the field.

Away he goes!

Another day, while the kids are in school, Lynda and I go out for a 20-mile bike ride, which included a stop for lunch at a lovely restaurant along the water....
Gayle poses....

...and then Lynda.

Fantastic day we had!!!
