Family Weekend at Johns Hopkins University--and what a gorgeous fall weekend it was! Lisa and Chuck couldn't get there to visit with Kirk until Sunday so Jim and I went down on Friday and left on Sunday just prior to his parents' arrival. Jim and I stayed at a hotel at the Inner Harbor and on Friday night we picked up Kirk and went to dinner at a restaurant down on the Inner Harbor.
On Saturday, in between a variety of lectures for family, Kirk walked us over the entire campus. It's a beautiful campus and Kirk is loving it!

Saturday night Kirk treated us to dinner in the dining hall. And then our misadventures began! We were going to a concert at the Peabody Institute and were supposed to be going by bus. However, Kirk got the times wrong and we missed the bus--so now taking a taxi is rather expensive--in fact, just as much as the concert! But we arrived in plenty of time and the concert was excellent and we had superb seats. So everything worked out just fine.
On Sunday morning there was a special Jazz Brunch, which we all attended. Great music--and the food was unlike any college food I ever had!! All too soon our wonderful weekend with my grandson ended and we had to return home. Fortunately, his mom, dad and Klett grandparents were on their way to end Family Weekend with him.
